OpenSocial - opening new doors, making new friends

We have exciting news - Google recently pulled together a group of companies around a set of common APIs, dubbed OpenSocial - an open platform for building social applications across the Web. Naturally, iLike is among the first companies to jump on this opportunity, and we plan to build a full suite of music services that will plug in to all the networks that have already announced they will support OpenSocial, including Orkut, MySpace and Hi5.

This is great news for our growth -- we just passed 15 million users, but this new platform lets us build services for a multitude of networks with a collective audience of more than 200 million users.

And this is especially great for the artists who use the iLike Artist Services Platform to cultivate and communicate with their fanbases. Any artist who registers a page on iLike will soon be able to automatically reach their fans across iLike.com, Facebook, Ticketmaster, Ask.com, iTunes, Windows Media Player, MySpace, Hi5, Orkut, and more!

can has leopard plzkthx

It's beyond me how ilike gets so popular without Winamp support (!), the most used mp3 player. Who the fuck uses WMP? Noone, right. And Itunes is pretty bad either, but okay, you probably have to use it on a Mac.
But on Windows... Give Winamp support finally. Until then I continue using last.fm (have to anyway).

I may be simply having technical difficulties, but I'm one of the recent facebook additions and I haven't found an easy way to access any comment drop box on your app propfile. So, I'm leaving one here. Anyhow, my suggestion would be to make a small link (when viewing a friend's music selections) that says "iLike it" so that we wouldn't have to navigate to the artists page everytime we found a band we liked. It's a tedious process to do so. And, as we all know, friends are likely to share music tastes. It makes the first steps in the adding music part easier. Also, I would be interested in a link that jsut brings up 20 or so bands at random that you could search through, much like the program does when you first join - only the addition should consist of other bands, not just the popular ones.

Just a few thoughts. :)

Are you guys working for Mr. Gates?

Why ignore winamp?

Hello, all. I couldn't find a place to leave a message, so I'm leaving a comment on this blog.

It seems as if the iLike Facebook appliance reformats the way Facebook pages appear in Flock (a social networking browser).

We tried adding songs to the Carnegie Mellon Facebook page. When we edit the iLike appliance, it takes us to our personal iLike settings, not the Organization's settings.

Someone should look into these.

Thanks,
Stephen

Hi, I have a hi5 account and an iLike account, how can I link them?

Hey, what about Winamp, could you make a plug in?

Happy new year!
