iLike Launches Comprehensive Music Application on Facebook Platform

SAN FRANCISCO – Facebook f8 Event, May 24, 2007 — Today at Facebook’s f8 event, iLike, inc (www.iLike.com) unveiled a social music application built on Facebook Platform, a platform that enables companies and developers to build applications that are deeply integrated into the Facebook website. The iLike music application lets Facebook users worldwide add music to their profiles, discover new music, and learn about upcoming concerts and which of their friends are attending. The iLike application is automatically personalized for the millions of Facebook users based on the existing music tastes and friendships that they’ve already defined on their Facebook profile.

iLike’s music application enables Facebook users to:

  • Learn when one of their favorite artists is going on tour in their area, and see who among their Facebook friends will be attending.
  • Search and add streaming music from their favorite artists to their Facebook profile.
  • Discover new music by following what their friends like and via personalized recommendations of free MP3s.

“The Facebook Platform represents an epic change in how business can be conducted on the internet. We’re thrilled that iLike is at the forefront of this tidal wave, and we’ve re-oriented our company to incorporate the Facebook Platform as a critical part of our strategy,” said Ali Partovi, CEO of iLike, inc. “What’s at stake for iLike is the opportunity to become the dominant music application for the Facebook community.”

Facebook today launched Facebook Platform, a development platform that enables companies and engineers to integrate with Facebook and gain access to millions of users.
